If you need to be seen sooner, we are happy to hear from you on tel (08) 6182 3060. However, if your problem is very urgent, we recommend you attend the Emergency Department at Royal Perth Hospital.
When you arrive, you will be seen by our friendly ophthalmic nurses/assistants who will perform some tests and often you will need to have your eyes dilated. This is when we instil a special eye drop to enlarge your pupil so we can fully examine your eye behind the pupil. This dilation process in itself can take half an hour so expect to be at our clinic for over 1-1.5hr. The effect of the dilation eye drop can last up to 2 hours, and your vision may be a little blurry during this time. It wears off up to 2 hours later and your vision will return to as before.
