Dr Jason Lim is an experienced Ophthalmologist with training from world renown eye institutes. He has successfully performed thousands of surgeries, specialising in cataract, glaucoma and pterygium surgery amongst others.

Personal experience

Dr.Lim was a local graduate from the University of Western Australia. He was born and raised in W.A. After graduating from the University of Western Australia, and completing his residency in W.A., he undertook various international training  in the UK, Singapore and the USA. Finally, he completed a glaucoma and cataract fellowship at the internationally recognised St Paul’s Eye Institute in the Royal Liverpool Hospital, Liverpool, U.K. There, he became the first fully fellowship trained non-penetrating glaucoma surgeon from W.A.
Non-penetrating glaucoma surgery is a relatively new type of glaucoma surgery which compared to traditional glaucoma surgery, allows for more rapid recovery, much lower risk of complications; whilst achieving similar postoperative outcomes.
Dr. Lim continues to be at the forefront of glaucoma management in Western Australia. He was the first surgeon in W.A. to insert the Cypass glaucoma suprachoroidal drainage device, one of the first surgeons to insert the iStent inject (and iStent inject W), one of the first to insert the Hydrus glaucoma stent in W.A. patients, one of the first to insert the Preserflo glaucoma shunt in W.A., the first to insert the Ahmed Glaucoma Valve tube, and has used numerous other glaucoma drainage devices (like Xen stent and Baerveldt glaucoma tubes).

He has taught and trained numerous Ophthalmology training doctors, and regularly gives lectures and tutorials, both locally and internationally to doctors and optometrists. Dr. Lim also regularly speaks at public patient education forums.

Dr. Lim operates at: St John of God Murdoch, Perth Eye Hospital, Waikiki Private Hospital and Bentley Hospital (for uninsured patients).

In contribution to world medicine, Dr. Lim has made a number of missionary trips into China, Cambodia, and Thailand. He has also participated in Indigenous Australian health and as a trainee, participated in trips to the Kimberley’s.
He is joyfully married and has four children. As someone who is very active, Dr. Lim is a keen sportsman and a lover of the great outdoors.
Dr. Lim welcomes an international clientele and consults in both English and Mandarin.
